Project Harambee began as a dream belonging to a group of students at the College of Charleston; an opportunity to visit a beautiful country, to witness the effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic on its people, and to build a clinic for an orphanage housing 50 children who have been orphaned by the pandemic. In December 2007 that dream became a reality and the long term purpose of the project came to fruition.
